New UNESCO list includes four sites on Vantage’s Adriatic Cruises

When the United Nations Education, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) wrapped up its annual World Heritage Committee meeting in July, one of the newly named World Heritage Sites, “Venetian Works of Defense between 16th and 17th centuries: Stato da Terra — western Stato da Mar” — encompassed four ports of call on Vantage’s Croatia & Pearls of the Adriatic Coast small ship cruise.

Centuries ago, anyone sailing into these ports would have arrived under a fearsome wall bristling with cannons and backed by defenders ready to repel invaders at any moment.
